Whenever Niles' ex-wife is mentioned in the show's narrative, it's usually because one of the group in Frasier is insulting Maris. Yet in the episode "Murder Most Maris," saw Niles trying to help his ex-wife out of a precarious situation where she may go to prison, eventually resulting in him having a breakdown at the coffee house. Roz is quick to defend Niles and helps Frasier as the two try and discreetly get Niles away from prying eyes.
Not one to let things slide, Roz says this threat to the onlookers of the cafe, and while she keeps her threatening demeanor in an otherwise comical situation, it was sweet for her to be coming to Niles's aid and not joining in on the commotion. One of the things most loved about Roz is her ability to hold her own, especially in her male-dominated workplace. While she and Frasier are friends, they often clash, and "Roz in The Doghouse," sees Frasier claim that Bulldog only wants to hire her as his producer so that he can seduce her.
Roz becomes angry at Frasier's blatant disregard for her work and upset that he would believe that Bulldog doesn't actually want her for her talents. She says this snarky line in response to Frasier insisting he's right because he's supposedly an expert in human behavior.
